THOUGH YOU HAVE LEFT ME IN ISOLATION DAWN OF NEVITA
[attr="class","executechar2"]
The unwitting protagonist of the tale – although, if you were to call her as such to her face, she'd probably fluster at the thought. Dawn resembles the stereotypes of her province quite well in most aspects of her personality. A bit of a social doormat, she doesn't speak up unless invited to, and isn't the sort to speak out against orders... with the exception of those that she simply will not follow. Mild and meek as she may seem, it should come to the surprise of many that she's got a bit of fire in her, the likes of which will flare high and tall when the situation calls for it. Anger? Rarely. Determination? Why, in spades. She's the sort to run headfirst into the fists of a bully should she see someone else taking a beating. Unfortunately, chances are, she'll end up just taking the beating wordlessly in their place. Her “act now, think later” tenancies have earned her as much a heroic reputation as it caused her a world of trouble throughout the course of her life, both in things big and small. Nothing, however, quite compares to the thoughtless, selfless act that put her into the jaws of the plot in the first place.[break][break]
Dawn grew up in the mining town of Twinleaf, a place much like the remainder of the cities in the Sinnoh region of Nevita. Watching the town children being carted off by strange men in crisp suits was a sight she'd long grown accustomed to. Families needed to be upheld, small mouths needed to be fed. Unfortunately, one small mouth had to be sold to supply for the rest, their parents' minds praying that, wherever they were sent, they would be able to survive, as well. (The children knew better, though, than to hope. No one ever came back after being sold. You may as well have pushed them, both hands, off the lip of a cliff.) The inevitability of one of her two closest friends, Lucas, following suit hung over their trio for nearly as many years as they had known each other. She and Barry just never realized it would happen so soon after the selling of his younger sister. In a unthinking fit of desperation, Dawn uses her memories of the town adults likening she and her soon-to-be-gone friend to twins to her advantage, stealing his clothes, cutting her hair, and handing herself into the hands of the unknown for the sake of... well, what, exactly, she doesn't think of until after.[break][break]
Fortunately, favor shines on just one of Twinleaf's unfortunate children. Rather than being sent into painful labor or certain death, Dawn arrives soundly in the gruff, but kindly hands of Professor Rowan and quickly befriends the Professor's “son”, Gold, on his research grounds. The Professor not only saves her life, but offers her a way to escape the trap that so many of her childhood acquaintances and children all over Nevita have fallen into –[break][break]
– and all she has to do is make sure that her newly made friend makes it into and out of the most dangerous place in the world with all of his limbs attached by the end.

THOUGH YOU HAVE LEFT ME IN ISOLATION GOLD OF NEVITA
[attr="class","executechar2"]
A boy with an ego the size of Nevita, but a heart made of the same substance as his name. Gold is a handful of a teenaged boy, what with his fiery temper, his boisterous personality, and years spent in Rowan's research lab oh so tragically robbing him of his Arceus-given right to hit on “the ladies” causing him to flirt with just about anything that looks remotely female. It's easy to see why some would grow tired of him or find him rather annoying. One can only handle so much bragging, after all, from a boy who hasn't really taken five steps off his not-quite father's property. Still, there's no denying that his does genuinely care for those around him, whether it be the people, the Pokemon, or the Earth itself. He won't stand for crooks, and he won't stand for injustice... even if he has to employ some shady tactics of his own in order to stand up for the “side of good” and all that, or if his motivations for defending the meek appear to be entirely out of self-interest. Truthfully, deep down, he suffers quite a bit from an inferiority complex that will likely never see the light – although if anyone were to tell you that, you'd probably laugh in their face, and for good reason. It's a secret well kept, perhaps known only to him by the Aipom he's bonded with and Dawn, his closest friend.[break][break]
Akiroan blood runs through his veins: you can see it in his hair and skin, hear it in the sound of his name. How, exactly, he wound up in the Nevitan slave trade, then, is a mystery that may never be solved. If the Professor had to have made a guess, it would have been that he was snagged by Illyians in a physical scuffle and sold away at the first given opportunity. Still, Rowan's thankful that the boy, barely even able to talk at the time, ended up in his hands. It's been years since that day, and come present times, Gold has grown to be Rowan's longest owned worker (in fact, it's been years since he was really 'owned' by the Professor at all, though he sticks around and helps out like old times for the fact that he has nowhere else to go) and somewhat of a surrogate son to the old man. To Gold, Rowan's almost like a dad, too. Almost. Not that he'll say. New faces come and go all the time, courtesy of Hoenn's Professor Birch, but Gold sits at the top as the favorite time and time again.[break][break]
Upon Dawn's arrival at the research lab, Gold is quick to try to catch her attention. It's not every day a girl his age shows up. Why, this could very well be the first. (It is.) Despite a rocky start, the two become fast friends – although he hadn't exactly been expecting the Professor to use that against her. Somewhere out there on Akiroan soil, there's a woman who gave birth to him and a father who'd once held him in his arms. Rowan will never really be his dad, but the Professor will be doomed before he lets the boy with explosive hair go his whole life without ever meeting the man who is. Because Dawn is unfortunately, because Dawn is now his friend, she's tasked with being Gold's bodyguard of all things. There's never been any reason to leave home. He loves it there, he really does. But there's something tempting about the border looming over the horizon, as well as the sandy remains of a once-lush Johto. His hands are in his first friend's hands.[break][break]
If only things would have stayed that simple.

THOUGH YOU HAVE LEFT ME IN ISOLATION KRIS OF AKIRO

A spit fire, an inferno, hotter than the desert sands that have come to swallow the Johto region whole and bright than the Sun that dominates all in the sky. When Kris is present in any given area, you'll know she's there, whether it be credit to her naturally “all eyes on me” presence... or the insane volume of her voice. No matter who, no matter where, no matter when, this fireball's always ready to fight, and for just about any given cause under the Sun. Looked at her funny? Get smacked. Stepped on her toes? Get smacked. Insulted her family name? Why, there might not even be anything left of you once she's through. A thousand boys have tried to insult her for her gender her whole life, but Kris packs a punch incredibly uncharacteristic for the feminine stereotype. If there's one person to be feared in the party, why, it's most certainly her. Kris lacks restraint by just about every definition of the word and rarely slows down long enough to consider the more emotional aspects of life; fortunately for those around her, her impulse control comes in the form of a walking, talking partner who can take up the miraculous task of calming her down with nothing more than a stern look and a comforting hand on the shoulder. He keeps her calm, she keeps his life interesting. An even trade.[break][break]
Akiroan, born and breed. Kris sits as the heiress of one of Johto's largest and most noteworthy nomadic tribes, being the only child of the presiding chief, and has been treated as something akin to a princess by the rest of the tribe for almost all of her life. Ironic, given her temperament. Truthfully, she owes a great deal of her fortune to this fact alone. Despite her distaste for being treated like porcelain when she's managed to tame one of the desert's most fearsome enemies, her currently bonded Arcanine, her struggles for the sake of the tribe were fewer in comparison to the other children, and her inevitable early marriage for the sake of prolonging the tribe as a whole has been pushed off and off time again. The thing is, is that Kris doesn't want to be the next chief of the tribe – nor does she want to provide for others, or marry, or have kids at all. She's content with stealing from Illyians and Nevitans stupid enough to traverse the Akiroan sands, happy to have Silver at her side as a friend, and nothing else. Never mind the fact they've been engaged nearly as long as they've known each other. Selfish, selfish: but she's a princess, been treated like one all her life, and she knows only what it feels like to have her way.[break][break]
It's these deep rooted selfish desires that bring her to force she and Silver into Dawn and Gold's unsuspecting party of travelers. They didn't find Gold's parents in the short amount of time they were in Akiro, after all – the only logical place to go would be back to Nevita, where they'll take the Akiroan fiances to help them escape from the sandy lifestyle forced upon all who walk the old Johtoan soil. (Silver says yes, of course, he always does, even if he doesn't look very happy about it.) How funny – Nevita always meant slavery for those native to its soils, but when Kris looks across the border, all she can think of it as is her first real chance at freedom.

THOUGH YOU HAVE LEFT ME IN ISOLATION SILVER OF AKIRO
THOUGH YOU HAVE LEFT ME IN ISOLATION SILVER OF AKIRO
[attr="class","executechar2"]
If his counterpart is fire, then Silver is ice: hard, cold, capable of breaking even solid rock in two if he put his mind to it. Having long lost the flammable fuse that attached to his temper in his youth, the likes of which had him pushing and shoving all those who came near and scoffing at the simple idea of anyone suffering from any sort of perceived “weakness” (perhaps a result of having to grow up faster to accommodate for a partner who refused to), he now stands as one of the most level-headed and collected members of the traveling party. Sticky situations don't phase him, and he knows better than to let his emotions get the better of him... most of the time. Arguments with Gold are an exception, obviously. To many, he can come off as... well, rather heartless. He doesn't mince his words when he can't afford to, and won't even when he can; he doesn't allow himself time to indulge in the softer side of humanity because very rarely does his situation allow for it. In truth, though, he's very protective of those who he's slowly let into his heart – Kris, for one, and the “sister” he left behind – and, more surprising still, is a total pushover when it comes to them, regardless of what it may seem like on the surface. He's hard because he feels that he has no choice but to be hard; he's a rock because there's someone he cares for who needs him to be that rock.[break][break]
The desert sands are unforgiving of those who walk them, and stories both in and outside of the Akiroan borders speak of the poor Johtoan citizens who had to harden themselves in order to withstand the pressure. Far from the melancholy or decadent ways of Nevita and Illyis respectively, Silver portrays himself as a spitting image of what an Akiroan should be: quick-witted, light on his feet, willing to toss aside his morals should the need arise, and harder than rocks poking up from the sand. He practically bleeds the Akiroan stereotype from his wounds. It'd come as a shock to anyone but the few who know the truth, then, that he's not actually Akiroan at all. No, rather, he finds his roots in Illyis, where he was born the only son and single heir to his father's evil empire: Giovanni and his terrible Team Rocket. Not that he'd known of that at the time; only the love of his father, the warmth of his "sister's" hand. Tragic, then, was his theft from his father, his “sister”. A babe for a child – the son of a tyrant, no less.[break][break]
How many Akiroan tribes was he passed around before finally settling on that which would become the stand in for the family in Illyis he had lost? The numbers are fuzzy, now, just like the days, memories he no longer wishes to relive. The Chief was the first man of sand to treat him with any shred of humanity, back then. Silver. It's not the name he was given at birth, no, but Johto names their children after jewels, after metals and this is his rebirth as an Akiroan. He's thankful only for the fact that he is not dead at first. It isn't until he meets Kris shortly after that he thanks the legendaries for something else entirely. He hears of all the horrible things his father had done, had tried to do in the years that follow, and he finally realizes where 'home' really is. It's here with her, at her side, wrapped up in her schemes. She fights her fate, of course. But Silver, oh, Silver; inevitability is not the only reason he doesn't push back, too.

PARTY MEMBER FROM JOHTO
